“Glancing up while wandering the streets of the southside of Glasgow (Pollockshields, I think) I was struck by the contrast between the dark sky and the bright stone of the tenement.

Although the word “tenement” has associations elsewhere with deprivation and low grade housing, these Glasgow buildings have always been sought-after for the quality of the accommodation they offer.”
